“Pray for others, be prayed for”
The Community tab, signed out, shows a small church on a purple background and “Sign in or create an account to pray alongside your community”, with three ticks: “Connect with your parish community and stay connected with fellow members”, “Pray for others, be prayed for” and “Strengthen your faith together through community challenges and discussions”.

Design takeaway
The pitch makes the parish the audience. Hallow’s help centre adds the details that matter: requests of up to 240 characters, never anonymous, active for seven days, answered with a heart.

Sharing with a group
From a request kept between someone and God, through one listener they choose, a few friends and a group with a leader, to the whole church and a public wall, with a board ranked by prayer streaks as a warning case: decide who hears a request, what each listener can and must do with it, and what comes back.

From opening on a passage, a prayer or a question box with nothing asked, through a first page of places to start, guest use and a short tour, to questions first and payment before the first use: decide what a new person must give, and when, before they reach what they came for.

From an assistant that says it cannot pray and points to God and to people, through the church’s own words, help to find one’s own and a prayer written for someone, to an AI that prays “with” them, promises to pray for them, or blesses, assures and absolves: decide which spiritual acts the assistant may perform, which it may only describe, and how it hands people over to those who can pray with them.

From never mentioning people, through a generic “talk to someone” and naming the right kind of person, to a drafted message, a request to the person’s own church, a person who joins the chat, and the warning case of an app that passes people on without asking: decide who the assistant hands people to, what goes with them, and who decides.
